Muckross Abbey is located in the very picturesque landscapes of Killarney National Park was founded in 1448 under the patronage of Donal ‘an Diamh’ MacCarthy. Inside the Abbey there is a beautiful Yew tree that is said to be as old as the Abbey itself.

Muckross Estate
Muckross Estate consists of a house built in 1843 for Henry Arthur Herbert and it also contains magnificent gardens with spectacular views of the surrounding mountains and lakes. In 1932, it became Ireland's first National Park.

Ross Castle and Island
Ross Castle and Island provides some beautiful woodland walks with views of the mountains and Lough Leane. It also includes a marked mining trail which traces the history of the old copper mines that date back to the Bronze age.
